Each passenger traveling with airBaltic is allowed to carry a certain amount of baggage for free. Number of pieces, weight and sum of dimensions of each piece that can be carried free of charge are defined precisely and depend on the passenger’s class of travel. Passengers travelling on Business Elite and Business Smart class are allowed to carry 3 pieces of baggage up to 20 kg each while Economy Smart and Economy Elite passengers can carry 1 piece of baggage up to 20 kg free of charge.
In case Basic class passengers want to carry any baggage, they are obliged to pay 35€ per each piece of baggage and per one way journey when purchasing it from our site, 40€ per each piece and per one way journey while purchasing at the check-in desk at the airport and 60€ per piece of baggage and per journey while purchasing at the gate. In case your trip includes a stopover in Riga exceeding 24 hours, the baggage fee will be applied to each flight separately. PINS VIP and Executive members travelling on all classes except Basic are allowed to carry additionally 2 pieces of baggage up to 20 kg each. Infants can carry 1 piece of baggage up to 10 kg a fully collapsible baby stroller and a infant car type seat free of charge.
Each passenger travelling on Business Smart and Business Elite Class with airBaltic is allowed to carry 2 pieces of hand-baggage while Economy Smart, Economy Elite and Basic Class passengers are allowed to carry 1 piece of hand-baggage up to 8 kg. Each hand-baggage must not exceed the dimensions of 55x40x20 cm.

Airport check-in: Passengers must arrive at the airport early enough to complete all formalities. The time indicated on the flight coupon is the departure time of the aircraft. Flights cannot be held for passengers who are late, and airBaltic holds no responsibility in such cases, therefore please find the check-in deadline for your departure airport below. Please note, a 10 EUR airport check-in fee applies. To avoid this fee you are welcome to check in for your flight online or at the self-check-in kiosks at Riga, Stockholm Arlanda and Copenhagen airports.
Twilight check-in: If your flight departs from Riga airport, you can use the Twilight check-in service – letting you check-in for your flight and drop off your luggage from 7pm to 10pm on the day before your scheduled departure. This allows you to go directly to security control and on to your departure gate on the day of departure. Take into account that there may be lines at security control, so we recommend arriving at the airport early enough, so you can be at the boarding gate at least 25 minutes before your flight departure.
